The Bowling Green Daily News reported on September 6, 2026 that the Flock cameras used by the Hart County Sheriff's Office are contracted through the Hart County Fiscal Court. Munfordville and Horse Cave police hold separate login credentials for the same system. WBKO reported that the sheriff's department adopted a written Flock policy on July 28, 2026. Under that policy the cameras capture plate numbers, vehicle make, model, color, date, time and GPS location, and do not run facial recognition, record audio, track residents in real time or enforce traffic violations. Data may be shared with verified law enforcement agencies for legitimate purposes, while non law enforcement requests are handled under Kentucky open records law. Neither source gives a camera count, a contract amount, a term length, a retention period or the date of the fiscal court order that authorized the purchase.
