The tracker holds 1,044 Flock Safety contract records across 48 states, and this page ranks every state by how many records it carries. Each card counts the records in that state, the documented endings, the dollars documented there, and the newest record added, then links the state hub where those records live. The counts come from the records themselves and recompute as records change, so a card moves the day a contract does.
How to read the ranking
A high count means the tracker has found and verified more contracts in that state, not always that the state runs more cameras. Coverage follows what governments publish: states where councils vote in public and post minutes produce records faster than states where purchases clear under a spending threshold. Texas and Washington sit near the top for different reasons, and the deep dives on each explain why.
Read the dollar figures with care. Amounts mix 1-year subscriptions, multi-year caps, and one-time purchases with installation, so a state total says what has been documented rather than what is spent annually. Camera counts follow the figure a document states, which can trail a network that has grown since. A status shows the last documented position, not today’s reality; a council can end a contract weeks before minutes publish.
What this page does not show
The states without a record are listed at the foot of the page. A missing state means no public document has put a contract in the dataset yet, which is a gap in the public record or in our coverage rather than proof that no cameras exist. It also does not rank spending per resident, because population figures are not part of the dataset.
For a single jurisdiction, search the tracker table. For what is coming, read the decision calendar. For the fields behind every figure here, see the data page.
