The Winneconne Police Department suspended its use of Flock Safety on September 4, 2026 in a coordinated announcement with the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office. The other agencies were the police departments of Neenah, Menasha, Fox Crossing and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. The suspension followed the release of Flock search records held by law enforcement agencies in other states through open records requests filed there. The sheriff's office said protecting investigative data, safeguarding personally identifiable information and maintaining public trust drove the decision. A Flock spokesperson disputed the characterization of what was released. No village board vote, contract amount or camera count for Winneconne appears in the coverage reviewed.
