The Oconomowoc Area School District bought and installed 4 Flock automated license plate readers in December 2023. Invoices obtained by FOX6 News show the district leases each camera for 3,000 dollars a year, which comes to 12,000 dollars a year in total. Audit logs covering June through August 2026 recorded more than 1,300 searches of the database by police and county officials, including one run to find a missing cooler. The district told FOX6 in a records request response that it has no specific policy on Flock cameras. On September 16, 2026 the district said it would discontinue use after the city of Oconomowoc voted to end its own Flock contract, and it did not say when the cameras would come down.
