The Fox Crossing Police Department suspended its use of Flock Safety on September 4, 2026 as part of a coordinated announcement led by the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office. The agencies acting together were the sheriff's office and the police departments of Neenah, Menasha, Fox Crossing, Winneconne and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. They acted after Flock search records held by law enforcement agencies in other states were released through open records requests filed in those states. The sheriff's office said protecting the integrity of investigative data, safeguarding personally identifiable information and maintaining public trust were paramount. Oshkosh had already canceled its own Flock contract earlier in 2026, and Omro never signed one. No village board vote, contract amount or camera count for Fox Crossing appears in the coverage reviewed.
