No source names who approved this contract yet. Contracts that arrive through procurement or a purchasing threshold often leave no vote to record.
Prince William County police operate 28 fixed Flock Safety cameras and 4 mobile units, a count FOX 5 DC reported on August 18, 2026 and InsideNoVa repeated on September 3, 2026. The Board of County Supervisors took up Flock camera policy and police drone use at its September 3, 2026 meeting and approved a set of memoranda of understanding. One video and data sharing memorandum passed unanimously with all 8 supervisors in support. A separate drone agreement passed 6 to 0 with 2 abstentions by Supervisors Kenny Boddye and George Stewart, and that item is not a Flock matter. Police Chief Peter Newsham said Virginia law holds license plate reader retention to 21 days and that the department audits its reader hits every day. No source names a dollar amount, a contract term or an original approval date for the county Flock agreement. The 8 cameras bought by the Town of Dumfries with 35,000 dollars in grant money are a separate town purchase, not counted here. No roll call is given because neither reported vote was an approval of a Flock purchase.
