Giles County Sheriff Morgan Millirons announced on August 26, 2026 that the office would end its Flock Safety contract about a year before the term was set to run out. The county ran 2 cameras, one on the Pulaski-Giles Turnpike southbound between Pearisburg and Dublin and one on U.S. 460 near Narrows. Cardinal News reported grant funding of $6,800 in 2024 and $6,000 in each of 2025 and 2026, and WDBJ7 reported the program was grant funded in full, so no county tax money went into it. The amount shown is the first year figure of $6,800, with the later years named here rather than averaged. Chief Deputy Scott Moye said policing in the 2020s requires the public's trust. The cameras are scheduled to come out on October 16, 2026. Christiansburg's council terminated its own Flock agreement in the same week.
