Suspended
Who approved this?
No source names who approved this contract. That gap is common where a purchase cleared without a council vote.
The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office temporarily suspended its Flock cameras on September 1, 2026 until residents could be told more about the system. The office said transparency and public input are important to it and promised to release information about the technology and its intended uses within days. Sheriff's representatives were scheduled to discuss Flock at the Board of Supervisors meeting on September 9, 2026. WSLS did not name the sheriff in its report, and no camera count or contract price appears in that story or in the WSET roundup. Cardinal News listed Charlotte County on September 3, 2026 among Virginia localities pulling back from Flock. The suspension is described as temporary and no contract termination has been announced.
Use suspended
