No source names who approved this contract. That gap is common where a purchase cleared without a council vote.

The Weber County Sheriff's Office operates 10 Flock Safety cameras. The Herald Extra reported on August 21, 2026 that those cameras were searched more than 5 million times between February 2022 and July 2026. Close to 97 percent of the searches came from police agencies in 45 states outside Utah. The Houston Police Department in Texas ran more than 423,000 of them, about 26 percent of the total. KUER reported on September 1, 2026 that 3 of the sheriff Flock cameras sit inside Washington Terrace city limits and were installed in 2022. Governor Spencer Cox said the search figures troubled him and asked for a review of state privacy rules. Neither report gives the contract value, the term length or the date the county signed with Flock.
