The Washington Terrace City Council agreed in March 2026 to test 3 Flock Safety cameras at 3,000 dollars per camera per year. KSL reported on August 25, 2026 that the 3 month trial had ended and that Mayor Mark Allen halted it after Governor Spencer Cox called for a privacy review of Flock. KUER reported on September 1, 2026 that the council then voted unanimously to cancel the trial before the cameras were installed. The Weber County Sheriff's Office separately operates 3 Flock cameras inside the city limits that went up in 2022, and the council action does not reach those. Mayor Allen said the camera discussion drew a bigger crowd than the city tax increase discussion, and that he would reconsider if Flock addresses the privacy problems. The published reports do not name the council members or give a tally for the March approval, so no roll call is given.
