Highland City Council minutes of October 3, 2023, item 5.d, record Police Chief Brian Gwilliam reporting that Alpine City installed Flock cameras nearly a year earlier and that they had helped the police department solve crimes. He said he had reported those cases to the Lone Peak Public Safety District board, which asked whether more cameras would help across the district. He said the police department, LPPSD, had paid for the software the cameras use, so Highland City could buy 4 to 6 more cameras and run them on it. He put the cost at 3,000 dollars per camera plus 150 to 350 dollars for installation. The item was a communication item with no vote, and the minutes were approved on December 5, 2023. The minutes do not give the software cost, a contract term or a total camera count.
