Who approved this?

Approved by Centerville City Council on January 3, 2023.

The Davis Journal reported on January 30, 2023 that the Centerville City Council, at its January 3 meeting, unanimously approved a Flock Safety camera pilot for the Centerville Police Department. Lt. Allen Ackerson said the pilot would start in April with 11 cameras, and that the city would likely keep just 5 if it continued the program. Depending on the number of cameras, the contract would cost between 15,000 and 32,850 dollars a year. Flock would keep ownership of the cameras, maintain them and replace them if stolen or damaged. The article does not list individual votes, a contract term or a funding source, and it dates from before the pilot began.
