Who approved this?
Approved by Commissioners Court of Lubbock County.
Lubbock County Commissioners voted 4 to 1 to put Flock Safety license plate readers around the county, EverythingLubbock reported. KCBD reported on December 11, 2023 that the Commissioners Court had passed and approved, on Monday, the process to install automated license plate recognition cameras at multiple intersections through a multiple-use agreement with TxDOT. KCBD also reported that specially designated Texas Anti-Gang Unit agents would be able to search the database. EverythingLubbock reported that the readers photograph every plate going in and out of the county and keep each image for 30 days. No document found names the operating agency, the commissioners who voted each way, the contract amount, the camera count, the term or the funding. No later document found shows the county renewing, pausing or ending the cameras.
Renewal date pending
The contract end date has not yet been confirmed from records.
Not yet in the sources: the contract amount, the camera count, and the approval date. Commissioners Court of Lubbock County holds the approval file, and the records request guide gives the wording to ask for it. If you already hold the document, send it in.

Renewals are decided in public. Residents can attend the meeting, speak during public comment, and write to the office above through official channels. The ACLU publishes a model cancellation resolution officials can adapt.
