Who approved this?
Voted down by Lockhart City Council.
The Lockhart City Council took up a law enforcement agreement with Flock Group, Inc. on October 9, 2025, carried as work session item C and regular meeting item 5.A. The staff report asked the council to approve seven fixed automated license plate reader cameras at city entry and exit points at a cost of $21,000 per year, on a 12-month initial subscription with automatic annual renewals and 30 days notice to terminate. Lockhart Police Department contact Gary Williamson was named on the item, and staff recommended the council authorize the city manager or a designee to execute all necessary documents. The council voted 6 to 1 to deny the agreement, with Mayor Lew White casting the only vote in favor. Two weeks later, on October 21, 2025, the council instead considered warranty extensions with Motorola Solutions for body worn and in car cameras, and no Flock item appeared on a Lockhart agenda through September 15, 2026.
