Who approved this?
No source names who approved this contract yet. The city clerk holds the approval file.
The City of Lakeway police page carries a link labeled License Plate Reader Data that points to a Flock Safety transparency portal registered to the Lakeway Police Department, which puts the vendor relationship on the city own website. KUT reported on September 8, 2026 that Lakeway was among the Central Texas agencies still operating Flock cameras, alongside Round Rock, Hutto, Taylor, Buda, Kyle and Cedar Park. The same report listed Elgin as paused, Liberty Hill and Bastrop as planning to end use that week, and Manor as having ended in August 2026. Lakeway was not named among the agencies reconsidering. No camera count, contract amount, approval date, term length or funding source for Lakeway appears in either record.
Renewal date pending
The contract end date has not yet been confirmed from records.
Not yet in the sources: the contract amount, the camera count, and the approval date. The city or county clerk holds the approval file, and the records request guide gives the wording to ask for it. If you already hold the document, send it in.
What happens next
Renewals are decided in public. Residents can attend the meeting, speak during public comment, and write to the office above through official channels. The ACLU publishes a model cancellation resolution officials can adapt.
