Guadalupe County, TX Flock Contract

Canceled

Who approved this?

No source names who approved this contract. That gap is common where a purchase cleared without a council vote.

The Guadalupe County Commissioners Court voted unanimously on August 4, 2026 to end the county contract with Flock Safety. Sheriff Joshua Ray brought the request and said every Flock camera in Seguin had been vandalized. The Seguin Gazette reported on August 11, 2026 that the system cost the county 25,000 dollars a year and that leaving early carried a fee of about 9,400 dollars. KSAT reported the exit cost at about 8,500 dollars and put the savings above 48,500 dollars, against more than 57,000 dollars owed if the county stayed through the rest of the term, so both exit figures are named here rather than averaged. Ray said he would not spend tax money replacing equipment that keeps getting torn down. The termination vote is described in prose here instead of in the roll call because it ended the purchase rather than approving one. No located document gives the camera count, the original approval date, the contract term or the data retention period.
