Who approved this?
Approved on the consent agenda, without discussion, by Farmers Branch City Council on December 10, 2024.
Resolution No. 2024-227 awarded a contract to Flock Group Inc. for Flock Safety software, license plate readers, a video management system and a video trailer, using Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority grant funds in the amount of $74,400. The resolution was item K.9 on the City Council consent agenda for December 10, 2024. The Texas Department of Motor Vehicles grant listing for fiscal 2024 shows the City of Farmers Branch receiving $75,000 for a project titled Fortifying Catalytic Converter Defense with License Plate Reader Technology. The council took the vendor back up twice, with Resolution No. 2025-047 on the April 1, 2025 agenda authorizing further Flock Group purchases and Resolution No. 2025-164 on the September 16, 2025 agenda for $30,000 of Flock Safety drone hardware and services. Farmers Branch leaves the action and result columns blank for every item in its Legistar record and publishes no minutes files, so no roll call is recorded here.
