Who approved this?

Approved by Blount County Board of Commissioners on October 19, 2023.

The Blount County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution 23-10-016 on October 19, 2023, approving a Sheriff's Office agreement with Flock Safety on terms extending beyond the current fiscal year to hold current pricing. Two committees forwarded the item to the full commission on October 10, 2023, one on a motion by Commissioner Anderson seconded by Commissioner Caylor and the other on a motion by Commissioner Carver seconded by Commissioner Reagan. The commission adopted it under the action taken on a related item, and Legistar returns no vote record, so no roll call is given. A year earlier, on October 20, 2022, the commission passed Resolution 22-10-007 appropriating 5,700 dollars of Sex Offender Registry Reserve funds to install Flock license plate reader cameras at each high school, after a 3 to 0 favorable recommendation from the Budget Committee. No contract amount is given because Legistar prints no dollar figure for the 2023 agreement itself and the 5,700 dollars covers only the 2022 school installation. Neither file states a camera count, a term length, a retention period or an audit condition. Tennessee Lookout reported on September 8, 2026 that Blount County still partners with Flock.
