The SC Daily Gazette and the Anderson Observer report that South Carolina lawmakers approved 500,000 dollars for the Marlboro County Sheriff's Department out of a 1.2 million dollar equipment request, and that more than 300,000 dollars of the request was for 30 Flock cameras. Sheriff Larry McNeil tied the request to a staffing shortage that includes investigators. The reports do not say how much of the 500,000 dollars went to Flock cameras, and they give no contract date, term length or existing camera count.
