Goose Creek police ordered 10 Flock license plate reader cameras in 2026 for $70,900, ABC News 4 reported on August 18, 2026. Public Information Officer Frank Johnson told the station that Chief Tom Hill, appointed to the post on July 14, had not received Flock's new recommendations, and that a 7-day retention period would be fine with him. According to Johnson, the chief said the department audits quarterly, will voluntarily adopt Audit Assistance and will review publishing a transparency portal. No document found names the body that approved the order, the approval date, the contract term or the source of the money.
