The Anderson County Sheriff's Office in South Carolina uses Flock automated license plate readers, confirmed by FOX Carolina on July 23, 2026 in a survey that found 7 of the 10 Upstate sheriff's offices it contacted running the cameras. The Greenville Journal separately named the Anderson County Sheriff's Office among Upstate agencies operating Flock systems. Neither outlet reported a camera count, a purchase price, a contract term or an approval date for the county. The Greenville Journal counted more than 400 active automated license plate reader cameras across the Upstate and assigned only 57 of them to a single agency, the Greenville Police Department. No Anderson County Council agenda item, vote, budget line or purchase order for the cameras has been found in a public record. FOX Carolina reported that two South Carolina bills on license plate reader rules failed to advance in 2026, one banning third party server storage and one requiring agencies to write their own regulations.
