Glocester Town Council voted 4-1 on August 6, 2026 to end the town's Flock license plate camera program, under an agenda item posted as 'Use of Flock Cameras – Discussion and/or Action' in new business. Cheryl A. Greathouse, Jonathan E. Burlingame and William A. Worthy, Jr. voted to end the program and Walter M.O. Steere, III voted to keep it. The Valley Breeze reports the contract was signed in December 2023 on a 60-month term at $5,000 a year, with a further $10,000 owed for the remaining two years, while the Boston Globe describes the same 2023 commitment as five years and $25,000 in total. The amount shown is $25,000 because that is the full-term figure both accounts reach. Data collected by the cameras was held 30 days before erasure. A resident petition carrying 385 signatures prompted the council to take the item up. Police Chief Jeffrey Jenison said the cameras had produced more than 50 successful outcomes and that they are designed to give police information after a crime rather than to monitor people. Neither account gives a camera count for Glocester.
