Rejected
Who approved this?
Voted down by Easton City Council.
Easton City Council rejected a Flock Safety license plate reader proposal by a vote of 6 to 1 in February 2026. Mayor Sal Panto Jr. cast the only vote in favor. The proposal covered camera placement on a single city owned pole. Council members and residents cited the risk of data breaches, data brokering and the targeting of immigrants and racial minorities. Councilwoman Crystal Rose had pushed to table the resolution on December 10, 2025 pending guidance from city solicitors Joel Scheer and Jeremy F. Clark, and said adopting the technology without safeguards in place is dangerous. Lehigh Daily reported that Flock leases run about $2,500 to $3,000 per camera. The names of the 6 council members who voted no were not published in either report, and no exact vote date was given. No roll call is given because the vote rejected the proposal rather than approving it.
