The Western Journal reported on August 13, 2026 that Coweta Police Chief Michael Bell contacted Flock Safety on Tuesday of that week to end his department's contract, after residents raised privacy and civil liberties concerns. The city of about 12,000 people had 2 plate-reading cameras, and Bell said they would be gone within weeks. Bell tied the decision to strained trust with residents after a dispute over a proposed data center. The article does not give a cost, a contract start date or a council vote.
