Atoka County, OK Flock Contract

Who approved this?

Approved by Atoka County Commissioners.

Atoka County Sheriff's Office moved ahead with installing 5 new Flock Safety cameras after the County Commissioners approved them at a meeting the week before, the Atoka County Times reported on March 4, 2026. At that meeting Sheriff Simpson received permission to put 2 of the cameras on county easements, and the other 3 went on private property with the landowners' permission. In an August 19, 2026 KTEN report, Sheriff Kody Simpson said the county requires a crime to be tied to each search of the database. He said there are plans to cut Flock data retention from 30 days to 7. He also said Flock hits helped deputies rescue a 5-year-old girl kidnapped from Texas. No document found states the approval date, the vote tally, the cost, the term or the funding source.
