Licking Heights Local School District installed 11 Flock Safety license plate reader cameras across all of its campuses, paid for with a 30,000 dollar Ohio School Safety grant. ABC 6 reported on November 16, 2023 that Flock Safety representatives met with the district that week and said plate data is deleted after 30 days, while entries placed on a be on the lookout list stay until an officer removes them. Pataskala Deputy Chief of Police Michael Boals said the cameras had been beneficial on a number of investigations. Superintendent Kevin Miller spoke for the district and Gary Daniels of the ACLU of Ohio raised privacy objections. The report does not describe a board vote, does not give a contract amount beyond the grant, does not give a term, and does not say which office runs the system day to day.
