The Hilliard Beacon reported on April 20, 2023 that the city agreed to an annual Flock Safety subscription not to exceed $40,000 for 11 cameras, paid from Hilliard's 2023 operating budget. Police Chief Michael Woods called the 11 cameras a good starting point and said the city would evaluate after a year. At the time of that report the city was still working through the signature process, with installation expected over the following couple of months. The city's Transparency in Policing page confirms the Division of Police uses Flock Safety technology but lists no camera count, cost, contract date or ordinance number. No council approval date, ordinance number or vote tally was confirmed. No renewal after the 2023 term is documented in the sources read here.
