Canceled
Who approved this?
No source names who approved this contract. That gap is common where a purchase cleared without a council vote.
The Saranac Lake Village Board voted on March 10, 2026 to cancel the village's Flock contract. The main resolution passed 4-1, an amendment terminating the contract immediately passed 4-1, an amendment barring any future Flock agreement passed 3-2, and an amendment requiring a full report on the procurement process passed 3-2. Mayor Jimmy Williams voted against all three amendments, Trustees Kelly Brunette, Matt Scollin and Aurora White voted for all three, and Trustee Sean Ryan backed termination but opposed the permanent bar and the report. The contract cost $72,000, covering installation plus a two-year subscription at $36,000 a year. The village was to receive 12 cameras, six Falcon readers and six Condor pan-tilt-zoom units, and three had been installed when the board voted. The cameras were announced publicly in February 2026, one month before the reversal. The money came from a $241,500 state law enforcement technology grant the board accepted in June 2024.
