Hamburg police run 4 Flock Safety license plate reader cameras in the town. Investigative Post reported in July 2026 that the department pays 12,000 dollars a year for them. That is a yearly operating figure, not a multi year total. Hamburg is one of more than 20 Western New York agencies the outlet counted, which together had put up as many as 395 Flock cameras by July 2026. Nothing naming Flock appears in the Town Board agenda and minutes archive on the town website, so the approving body, the approval date and the term are all blank here. Both citations below come from the same two part Investigative Post series by reporter J. Dale Shoemaker, which means the 12,000 dollar figure rests on one newsroom and still wants a town contract or order form to confirm it.
