No source names who approved this contract yet. Contracts that arrive through procurement or a purchasing threshold often leave no vote to record.

The Columbia County Sheriff's Office spent $97,129.58 on 10 Flock Safety license plate readers, the Daily Gazette reported on August 19, 2026. The purchase was covered by a $279,790 state law enforcement technology grant the county accepted in July 2024. Former Sheriff Don Krapf asked the Board of Supervisors for authorization on March 23, 2023 and the board tabled that request. The sheriff's office bought the Flock software in December 2024 and ordered cameras in October 2025, and supervisors said they first learned of the purchase on August 18, 2026. Public Safety Committee Chairperson Robert Lagonia said the committee found out the day before, New Lebanon Supervisor Tistrya Houghtling questioned the legality, and the county attorney was asked to review whether the purchase contract is valid. A follow up report on August 26, 2026 noted that Sheriff Jackie Salvatore described 10 cameras while the county transparency portal listed 11. No approving body or authorizing resolution is documented.
