The NMSU Round Up reported on September 15, 2026 that NMSU Police operates 7 Flock Safety cameras at designated entry and exit points on campus under a five year agreement with the company. Police Chief Justin Dunivan confirmed the deployment. The report says NMSU Police holds the data for 30 days, that officers need a law enforcement reason and must tie a search to an incident or case number, and that the lieutenant over field operations reviews Flock searches. The report says the system identified a suspect vehicle within five minutes in an attempted abduction on Sam Steele Way. It does not give a dollar figure or the start and end dates of the agreement.
