Brick Township police run Flock Safety cameras that began operating in May 2024. WRAT reported on July 30, 2026 that about 6 cameras sit at busy crossroads and main roads near Drum Point Road and Hooper Avenue, and that one camera was vandalized. Acting Police Chief Henry Drew told Star News Group on August 14, 2026 that 5 stationary cameras are deployed and the department does not anticipate adding more; the count shown is the department's own figure of 5. Drew said the system gives no live video feed and does not let officers watch motorists continuously, describing it as an investigative tool. Access is limited to the traffic safety unit, dispatchers, investigative personnel and patrol supervisors, every login is recorded, and each search requires a case number and a stated reason. Drew said he does not have access himself, and the department will not disclose camera locations. No township council resolution, contract amount, term length or funding source was located.
