The Horace City Council voted 3 to 1 on the night of Monday, September 21, 2026 to remove the Flock Safety cameras from the city, Valley News Live and KNOX News Radio reported. Councilmember Chad Chalmers put Flock Cameras on that meeting's agenda as item 9 for discussion and said he no longer felt comfortable having the cameras in the city. He told Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner that no one knows who will control the system under future sheriffs. Jahner said his office has policies in place and would hold any deputy who misuses the system accountable. Both reports say the cameras came to Horace at no cost through a county grant and that no timeline for removal has been set. Neither report gives a camera count, a contract amount or the names of the members who voted.
