Pontotoc aldermen voted unanimously at their January 17, 2023 meeting to approve a two year subscription contract with Flock for 8 license plate reader cameras. The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal reported the operating cost at $2,400 per camera per year, with a one time site survey and installation charge of $4,200 covering all 8 cameras. Chief Tutor said the system can search for vehicles matching a description from the previous 30 days and sends real time alerts to officers.
