Willard Police Chief Tom McClain said on August 21, 2026 that the department would not renew its Flock Safety contract, citing resident concerns and a review of the program's cost and value. The Board of Aldermen then voted unanimously on August 24, 2026 to stop the program at once rather than wait for the agreement to lapse. McClain told the board that his official recommendation was that the town stop the program. The department had used the cameras to investigate serious crimes, locate missing and endangered people and support traffic safety. Bolivar and Pulaski County ended their Flock agreements in the same month. Neither source lists individual aldermen, the contract amount, the camera count, the funding source, the term length or the date the board first approved the contract.
