St. Louis Public Radio reported on August 20, 2026 that the St. Charles County Police Department would stop using Flock after an audit found a former civilian employee had made an abnormal pattern of searches for personal, non-law enforcement reasons. Police Chief Kurt Frisz made the decision. The county had 28 Flock cameras, 20 in county parks and 8 on streets, and they were covered with black bags until the company retrieves its equipment. The employee admitted the misuse, was placed on unpaid leave and resigned after a termination notice. The article does not give the contract start date, the cost or a council vote.
