The Bolivar Board of Aldermen voted unanimously to terminate the city's Flock contract, and the city sent Flock a termination letter the next morning giving the company 48 hours to respond. KY3 dates the vote to Tuesday night and KSMU dates it to August 12, 2026. The board had already voted on July 28, 2026 to look for ways out of the contract. The program was paid for with a $54,000 Missouri Blue Shield grant, which the city may have to repay. The city has five Flock cameras and planned to bag them as soon as the termination notice went out. Alderman Alexis Neal said the main concern was not knowing what information is collected and who receives it. City Administrator Thomas Relford said he had an ethical problem with breaking the contract early, and KSMU reports the city has paid through the end of the current term and decided to lose that money.
