No source names who approved this contract yet. Contracts that arrive through procurement or a purchasing threshold often leave no vote to record.
The Calvert County Sheriff's Office, headquartered in Prince Frederick, Maryland, began a Flock Safety license plate reader pilot announced by Sheriff Mike Evans. Evans said the data is never sold or shared with third parties. The announcement named Flock Safety chief executive Garrett Langley but gave no camera count, pilot length, cost, or start date. Maryland Bay News reported on July 11, 2026 that Calvert County was among the Maryland jurisdictions running a Flock program, alongside Glenarden and Hyattsville. Maryland Bay News also found that Maryland enacted House Bill 444 and House Bill 711 to block immigration enforcement access to plate data without setting up public audits to test compliance. No county commissioners vote, signed contract, purchase order, retention schedule, or audit requirement for the sheriff's office has been published.
Renewal date pending
The contract end date has not yet been confirmed from records.
Not yet in the sources: the contract amount, the camera count, and the approval date. The city or county clerk holds the approval file, and the records request guide gives the wording to ask for it. If you already hold the document, send it in.
What happens next
Renewals are decided in public. Residents can attend the meeting, speak during public comment, and write to the office above through official channels. The ACLU publishes a model cancellation resolution officials can adapt.
