Stow Police Chief Michael Sallese ended the department's relationship with Flock Safety, reported by The Boston Globe and by Boston.com on August 18, 2026. The town had 3 cameras. Two were taken down earlier in 2026 and the last one was removed in early August 2026. An internal affairs investigation found Officer Jason Rogers, who joined the department in 2024, responsible for conduct unbecoming of an officer and improper use of an official position. The Globe reported he ran over 500 searches and repeatedly sought personal information about a Worcester County resident during 2024 and 2025 with no legitimate law enforcement reason. A criminal complaint was filed on July 17, 2026, Rogers was placed on paid leave within about 3 hours, moved to unpaid leave on July 31, 2026, and an employment hearing was set for August 26, 2026. No source gives the contract amount, the contract term, the funding source or a Select Board vote on ending the contract.
