Lynn police kept their Flock system running but sharply narrowed who can use it after an internal audit on August 12, 2026 flagged what the department called a concerning pattern in some searches. Itemlive reported on August 19, 2026 that two officers were placed on paid administrative leave over the flagged searches. The Boston Globe reported the next day that the department restricted Flock access to supervisors holding the rank of lieutenant or higher and began rewriting its usage policies, and the department said it would hold accountable anyone who used the system outside a legitimate law enforcement purpose. Boston 25 News covered the same audit and leave decisions. The department stated the questionable searches did not involve immigration enforcement. Lynn did not cancel or suspend the contract, unlike Stow and New Bedford, which cut ties after separate misuse cases. No camera count, contract amount, term length, start date, funding source or retention period has been made public for Lynn.
