Fall River police began using Flock in June 2021 with 10 cameras bought using American Rescue Plan Act money, and the system has grown to 41 cameras placed mainly on major streets and at city entry points. WSAR reported that plate data stays in the database for 30 days under Fall River Police Department policy. South Shore News put the recurring cost at roughly 3,500 dollars per camera per year, while the Fall River Reporter described a 3,500 dollar annual fee paid by the city without saying whether that figure is per camera. No contract amount is given because the 2 descriptions of the fee do not match. Acting Police Chief J.T. Hoar said the department uses a Flock feature that tracks search trends inside the system, and the Fall River Reporter noted Flock added auditing in 2026 that flags unusual officer search behavior to command staff and requires a case code before a search. No approving body, vote tally, term length or expiration date is documented in any of the three sources. Deputy Chief Barden Castro described using the system to identify vehicles from partial descriptions.
