Douglas, MA Flock Contract

Canceled

Who approved this?

No source names who approved this contract yet. Contracts that arrive through procurement or a purchasing threshold often leave no vote to record.

Douglas police deactivated all Flock cameras and all department accounts in late August 2026. The town had 7 cameras, 3 of which had been vandalized before the shutdown, according to The Boston Globe on August 24, 2026. The department said the system has been instrumental in helping solve several serious crimes but that given the divisive atmosphere surrounding its use, deactivating the system is the appropriate decision at this time. The shutdown was announced by the police department in a public statement, not through a Select Board vote. Douglas has released no contract price, funding source or contract end date.
