Attleboro Police installed 2 Flock cameras covering an Interstate 95 exit in 2022 and later dropped them. The Sun Chronicle reported on March 23, 2026 that Police Chief Kyle Heagney decided to cancel, saying subscription fees kept climbing and had become too costly, and that each camera ran about 4,000 dollars a year against the department budget with another increase expected. The ACLU of Massachusetts records Attleboro as ending its Flock deployment in March 2026 over cost. An earlier ACLU of Massachusetts post on October 7, 2025 published a redacted Attleboro Flock network audit screenshot showing the department inside the nationwide sharing network, which let out of state agencies reach its data. The cancellation was made by the police chief rather than by a recorded council vote, so there is no tally and no named roll call to report. The ACLU of Massachusetts lists more than 25 Massachusetts communities that rejected or dropped Flock, among them Boston, Cambridge, Watertown and Natick. No contract end date, total contract value or retention period appears in the sources reviewed.
