Baton Rouge, LA Flock Contract

Active

Who approved this?

No source names who approved this contract. That gap is common where a purchase cleared without a council vote.

WAFB reported on August 10, 2026 that the Baton Rouge Police Department has used Flock Safety cameras for five years. Chief TJ Morse said every plate query and every login is recorded automatically and that the department can run audits on vehicles and on users. WBRZ reported on August 14, 2026 that both the Baton Rouge Police Department and the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office use Flock, and that the company was cutting default retention from 30 days to 7 days and requiring a case code for each law enforcement search. Trial attorney Karleigh Gwyn told WAFB that no judicial oversight applies to Flock cameras in Louisiana at present. Neither outlet reported a camera count, a purchase price or a Metropolitan Council vote. A check of the East Baton Rouge Parish Metropolitan Council agenda center turned up no retrievable Flock item, so approving body, approval date, term length and funding source stay blank.

Not yet in the sources: the contract amount, the camera count, and the approval date. The city or county clerk holds the approval file, and the records request guide gives the wording to ask for it. If you already hold the document, send it in.
