The Kentucky New Era reported that Paducah operates 32 Flock Safety cameras across the city. Police Chief Brian Laird said the department began with a trial of 2 cameras and expanded each year, placing cameras on main thoroughfares to find suspect vehicles, stolen vehicles and missing persons, and that Flock cameras have operated in Paducah for 4 years. Laird said officers must document a reason to access the data and that the department shares camera access with hundreds of police departments. The article does not give a cost, a contract date or a city commission vote.
