Who approved this?
No source names who approved this contract yet. Contracts that arrive through procurement or a purchasing threshold often leave no vote to record.
LINK nky reported on August 18, 2026 that Mayor Greg Pohlgeers announced at a Monday night council meeting that Fort Mitchell would end its use of Flock Safety license plate readers and terminate the contract. The city had 5 Flock readers under a 24-month contract signed in 2024 for 34,000 dollars, and City Administrator Edwin King will coordinate their removal. Pohlgeers cited mass surveillance, data security, Fourth Amendment concerns and council opposition. LINK nky's August 4, 2026 records investigation had listed Fort Mitchell PD with the same 5 devices and 34,000 dollar cost. The articles do not say who approved the 2024 contract or give a vote tally for either decision.
