The city said the readers will be deactivated and will not capture or transmit data during the review, and that a joint task force formed with Boone County Sheriff Les Hill will report its findings to the Florence City Council. The mayor said Chief Jeff Mallery and the department had not abused or misused the system. Neither document gives a contract date, a term or a council vote.
