The University of Illinois Chicago runs 15 Flock Safety cameras on its campus under a two year agreement worth 110,300 dollars. Records obtained by Open Campus and the Chicago Sun-Times show the contract runs out in September 2026 and that university officials were in talks to renew it. UIC separately agreed to pay Volt Inc. 3.5 million dollars over 3 years for AI video detection, which is not a Flock product. Five Illinois public universities together have spent more than 450,000 dollars on Flock services since 2021. The reporting names no board action for the UIC camera purchase.
