Approved by Village Board of Trustees on March 21, 2023.
The Village of Mount Prospect states on its own transparency page that it entered into an agreement with Flock at the March 21, 2023 village board meeting. The Daily Herald reported on September 18, 2025 that the village renewed for two years at $137,000, with $72,000 covering 10 permanently mounted cameras, one portable unit and software, and $65,000 covering 13 more cameras awaiting permits, for 23 in total. Data is deleted after 30 days unless downloaded as evidence. The village opted out of Flock's National Lookup feature in June 2025 and revoked access for every law enforcement agency outside Illinois. Access is limited to Illinois agencies with approved data-sharing agreements. The department said it would update its reader policy to add regular audits of searches by internal and external users. An Illinois Secretary of State audit found 262 searches by agencies around the country citing immigration purposes, which the audit treated as a violation of 625 ILCS 5/2-130, and out-of-state searches reached Mount Prospect cameras without authorization on May 9, 2025.
