Approved by Village of Homer Glen Board of Trustees.
The Village of Homer Glen Board of Trustees approved a Flock Safety contract in December 2025, CBS Chicago reported, after residents had voted against license plate readers in a 2023 referendum. Of 12 approved cameras, 5 were installed when Mayor Christina Neitzke-Troike shut off law enforcement access on September 1, 2026. The pause followed a Will County sheriff's deputy being placed on administrative leave over possible misuse of the Flock database. The mayor said the village supports its officers and wants them equipped, but does not want those tools used for personal purposes. WGN reported that the mayor halted the system before it went live, and that West Chicago opened a full review of its own Flock system while the DuPage County State's Attorney investigated whether an officer accessed data without authorization. Neither report gives a contract amount, term length, vote tally or trustee names. The village has published no date to resume or end the contract. No approval date is given because no document names the day in December 2025.
